About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... Love's Challenges....

Passion knows its limitations are scarce,
A boundless and borderless location.
Unfettered in its weightiness and lust,
Swerving between moods and modes.
Grasping in a tightly held heartiness,
Clasping and twisting within its rapture.
Almost depleting ease of easy breathing,
Consuming and devouring a new power.
At times hating the crushing attentiveness,
Yet bereft and relishing an imminent return.
Head-over-heels or standing on ragged edges,
It hounds and captivates each waking wink.
Secreting itself within deepest recess of being,
Its presence infiltrates and disperses enduringly.
Pounding upon the freedoms of actions in mind,
Love challenges any escape from beyond its hold.

  2. Love challenges any escape
    from beyond its hold.

A classic ending Eileen! Just how powerful love can be. Its hold is so tenacious and powerful that one may need to really struggle to free oneself. I believe this is so true! Wonderful write!

  3. Passion definitely can have it's limits if not set on the foundation of something stable and everlasting. Beautiful poem Eileen.

  4. Depthful writing, Eileen. I like the flow of the poem and the progression of your thoughts. The ending was perfect. I do think that once love takes hold there is no escape. We are held by its grasp.
